Hickory Meadow- Free! 3 miles away. Mostly flat loop with 1 km well lit for night skate, classic, or snowshoes. People make this their daily spot! 4 km. Free
VASA- 7 miles away. Large trail system running through Michigan state forest. It has groomed trails for skate, classic, snowshoes, and even fat tire bikes! 30+ Km. Free. DNR Pass for Bartlett Rd and Supply Rd parking. Timber ridge parking is $10.
Crystal Mountain- 30 miles SW of TC. Strong reputation for groomed trails. Skate, classic for novice to expert. 1.7 km lit. Trail fee.
Shanty Creek- 36 miles NE of TC. Skate, classic groomed. Snoeshoe. 30 km. Trail fee.
Forbush Corner- 50 miles away, but they have snowmakers for 2.5 km, with 20 km combined for classic, skate, and snowshoe. Trail fee.
Nubs Nob- 75 miles away. Almost sure to have snow when no one else does. Full featured, classic, skate, snowshoe. 2 km lit, wide groomed trails, with snowmakers. 20 km plus. Trail fee
